INTRODUCING OUR NEW OWNER DR. NICK SPACCARELLI!
Dr. Nick Spaccarelli was born and raised in the Hudson Valley, spending most of his life in East Fishkill. He was locally schooled at John Jay Senior High School, graduating in 1997. After graduating, he went to SUNY Delhi where he received a degree as a veterinary technician and was an All American in track and field in 2000. He later attended Purdue University in West Lafayette, IN, where he continued to run track and walked on to their football team. After finishing the requirements for veterinary school in 2003, he applied and was accepted to Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine. With the support of his family, he completed his clinical year training at University of Minnesota in the Twin Cities in 2006.
In 2007, Dr. Spaccarelli returned to the Hudson Valley to begin working in private practice and to pursue his professional interests in surgery, rehabilitation and pain management in pets that have chronic issues. Dr. Spaccarelli did a two year surgical mentorship under Dr. Martin DeAngelis, a board certified veterinary surgeon, to advance his surgical experience and skills particularly in the areas of orthopedics and soft tissue surgery. In 2011, Dr. Spaccarelli joined the faculty of his alma mater teaching small animal medicine and practicing as a Clinician at the Veterinary Teaching Hospital.
After three years back on the island of St. Kitts, Dr. Spaccarelli returned to the Hudson Valley to fulfill his lifelong dream of practice ownership. Dr. Spaccarelli brings over 10 years of small animal experience to The Beacon Vet. He is excited to be adding orthopedic surgery and chronic pain management to a long list of advanced offerings at the practice.
Dr. Spaccarelli resides in Hopewell Junction with his wife Megan and their newborn baby girl Mackenzie. They have a dog named Marshall that they rescued along with two Red Footed Tortoises named Harry and Sally. Dr. Spaccarelli is an avid traveler and has been to Europe, Australia, Canada, the Caribbean and Central America. His passions include surfing, stand up paddle boarding, fishing, hiking, cooking and spending time with family and friends.
He is truly excited to be bringing his brand of care, compassion and knowledge to the animal community in Beacon and beyond!
